BETHLEHEM, Pa – Colgate earned its first set of multi-conference weekly honors this season.
Hunter Drouin was named Offensive Player of the Week,
Thomas Lala earned Defensive Player of the Week, and
Andrew Lehrman garnered his second Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season.
The win was a total team effort, but all three Raiders played pivotal roles in Colgate's 14-12 upset victory over No. 15 Boston University.
Drouin, for the second time in his career and first time this season, was named Offensive Player of the Week. He scored five goals and added two assists, recording season highs in both categories. Drouin fired 10 shots, all of which were on goal, for a perfect shot-on-goal percentage. In addition to his offensive production, he collected four ground balls.
Lala earned the first Patriot League weekly award of his career. The junior matched a career high with three caused turnovers and added a season-high five ground balls. In addition to his defensive performance, he scored his first collegiate goal with a long pole.
Lehrman held firm in the crease for the Raiders, making 15 saves against the Terriers while allowing 11 goals for a .423 save percentage. He faced 46 total shots from Boston University and made a string of five critical saves in the fourth quarter, holding the Terriers to one goal in the final period. In addition to his goalkeeping efforts, he caused two turnovers and collected a career-high seven ground balls.
Kyle Rummel received honorable mention from the league for his performance at the faceoff. The junior went 8-13, posting a 61.5% success rate, marking his second-best performance of the season.
The Raiders (2-6, 1-3 Patriot League) earned their first ranked victory of the season and are set to travel to face Navy (6-3, 2-1 Patriot League) on Saturday at noon at Jack Stephens Field in Annapolis, Md.
