Women's Hockey Falls to Quinnipiac

Biederman nets lone goal

HAMDEN, Conn - The Raiders dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 6 Quinnipiac on Friday night at Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate's Casey Borgiel and Emma Beauchamp attempted early shots, but were unable to find the net. Quinnipiac opened the scoring on Friday at 16:47 with a goal by Kahlen Lamarche, assisted by Aynsley D'Ottavio and Ella Sennick, giving the home team the lead.

The Bobcats extended their advantage with a goal from Makayla Watson at 07:43, assisted by Peyton Cormier and Emerson Jarvis. Despite Colgate's efforts, including a blocked shot by Jaimee Spring and saves by Brooke Davis, the period closed with Colgate trailing 2-0.

Elyssa Biederman and Taylor Senecal, applied early pressure but were unable to convert on several attempts, including a close call by Alexis Petford that hit the pipe. Colgate gained a power play advantage, although the opportunity did not result in a goal. As the period concluded, the Raiders remained behind 2-0.

Colgate faced a challenging third period as the Bobcats extended their lead early. After a strong defensive effort with multiple saves by Davis, Quinnipiac broke through with a goal by Lamarche at 16:22, assisted by Laurence Frenette and Sennick. The home team capitalized again shortly after with a power-play goal by Watson at 15:44, increasing their advantage.

Biederman found the back of the net at 7:12, assisted by Avery Pickering, cutting into the Bobcats' lead. However, Quinnipiac solidified their win with an empty-net goal by Watson at 2:20, completing her hat trick. The period concluded with the Bobcats securing a 5-1 victory over Colgate.
