Raiders Excel in Latest NCAA APR Data

Eleven Teams Earn Perfect Multi-Year Scores

HAMILTON – Eleven Colgate University athletics teams earned perfect four-year 1,000 scores in the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rates (APR) released Tuesday afternoon.

Once again every Colgate varsity athletics program easily surpassed the NCAA's benchmark of 930. Raider teams posting perfect scores in the multi-year format, which measures data collected over a span of four academic years (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23): 
 
  • Men's Basketball
  • Men's Cross Country
  • Golf
  • Men's Swimming and Diving
  • Women's Swimming and Diving
  • Men's Track and Field
  • Women's Cross Country
  • Women's Ice Hockey
  • Women's Soccer
  • Women's Tennis
  • Volleyball

"The commitment to academic excellence by our student-athletes is once again reflected in the NCAA's latest academic progress data," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Yariv Amir '01. "I continue to be inspired by their achievements in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. Congratulations to the student-athletes on this accomplishment, and thank you to all of our campus partners that help support and guide their academic pursuits."

The national four-year APR held steady at 984. The multiyear APR scores for all of Colgate's NCAA-sponsored programs registered a score of 985 or higher, including 19 programs scoring a 990 or higher. 

Along with the multi-year data, 20 teams posted perfect scores for the 2022-23 cohort, including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, field hockey, softball, and volleyball. 

The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. 
 
Every Division I sports team submits data to have its Academic Progress Rate calculated each academic year. The NCAA reports both single-year rates and four-year rates. APRs for each team are available online through the NCAA's searchable database.
