HAMILTON – Colgate Men's Basketball fifth-year senior
Ryan Moffatt has been named to the six-player Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced Thursday by the league.
Moffatt adds to his postseason collection after garnering All-Patriot League Second Team honors earlier this week. Moffatt, an Economics and Education Studies double major, has garnered his first career Academic All-League selection.
The Lancaster, Pa., native has served as the men's basketball representative for Colgate athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In this role he represents the needs and perspectives of peers, facilitating communication and mutual support with athletics administration, providing a vehicle for representation in University governance, and fostering engagement and community among their population and throughout the community.
Moffatt has also served as a health and wellness advocate, which was a program created during the 2019-20 academic year as a means to promote the overall health and wellness of student-athletes and address concerns affecting their population. In addition to strong campus partnerships, the group also collaborates with national organizations and has launched programs for teams like the One Love escalation workshops.
On the court, Moffatt is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree. He garnered second team honors this season after helping Colgate to its fifth consecutive Patriot League regular season championship. The Raiders are 22-9 overall and finished with a 16-2 mark in league play.
Moffatt is third in the Patriot League record book in career three-point field goal percentage (41.8). This season he is averaging 10.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He has led the team in scoring five times with 20 games in double figures. The fifth-year forward has three 20-point games, including a season-high 23 points with six made treys against Boston University (1/20).
To be eligible for the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Patriot League awards, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average as an undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
