CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Gracie DeSimone and
Meghan Holland each scored their first collegiate goals as Colgate fell to Harvard, 21-6, on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate started slowly allowing Harvard to jump out to a quick 4-0 lead after the first quarter.
The Raiders got on the board early in the second quarter as Caroline Panzirer scored her third goal of the season on a free position shot. Grace DelNegro drove down the right side and dished it to Lucy Licata who rocketed home Colgate's second goal of the game midway through the second quarter. Harvard remained ahead 13-2 at the half.
DeSimone and Holland each scored their first career collegiate goals in the third quarter but Harvard extended its lead, 17-4 after three quarters.
Kait Henning scored her second goal of the season off a Licata pass before Lauren Thompson opened her 2024 account with a free position goal. Their efforts were not enough as Harvard won, 21-6.
The Raiders offense was led by Licata with a goal and assist. Josie Cavallo, Kendall Belanger, Nelle Kniffin, and Holland led the Raiders with one caused turnover.Â
Lauren Solis and Helena Morrison finished with seven saves in a combined effort in goal.Â

The Raiders play their home opener next Wednesday, Feb. 21 against Binghamton. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium.
