Colgate Conquers #10 St. Lawrence, 7-3

Six Raiders notch multi-point outings in Colgate's seventh ranked win of the season

HAMILTON – First-year forward Emma Pais put in two first-period goals, Kristýna Kaltounková tallied a goal and two assists, and Dara Greig chipped in four points as the No. 4 ranked Colgate women's hockey team clipped No. 10 St. Lawrence, 7-3.

"It felt so good to be back at home," Greig said after her season-high four-point performance. "Everyone came to play tonight. It was great to have all four lines going and that really contributed to our offensive success."

Pais poured it on the Saints early, knocking in the game-winner from Greig at the 7:26 mark of the first frame. A minute later, the first-year phenom unleashed a wrister from just inside the blue line. Her shot connected with the top right corner of the pipe and rattled in for her ninth goal of the year.

The Saints cut the deficit to one later in the period, but Elyssa Biederman fed Kaltounková with a no-look, between-the-legs pass, who put the puck on a platter for Greig. The senior came streaking down the center, burying the slapshot that put the Raiders up a pair heading into the first intermission.

Sophomore forward Tessa Holk began the second stanza with her first goal of the season after capitalizing on the breakaway started by Gwen Eichfeld's stick check at center ice. Danielle Serdachny then stretched her point streak to six games with an impressive snipe from the left faceoff circle before St. Lawrence got one back heading into the third.

Kaltounková, the NCAA's points leader, put in her 17th goal of the season in the opening minutes of the final period to extend the lead to four. The Saints scored again with two minutes remaining, leading to the visitors opting to move to an empty net.

Allyson Simpson made them pay, however, launching a prayer from the red line which found paydirt and gave Colgate its 17th win of the season.
