HAMILTON - The women's hockey program embarks on its 2026-27 season this weekend with a home-and-home series against the R.I.T. Tigers. The Raiders will open the season in Rochester on Friday before their home opener on Saturday with puck drop scheduled for 6 p.m..

Colgate opens the season ranked No. 14/15 in the nation. The Raiders reached the ECAC Quarterfinals last season in head coach Stefan Decosse's second season in charge. Colgate has three players from the 2025-26 roster selected in the 2026 PWHL Draft. Casey Borgiel, Elyssa Biederman, and Alexis Petford all heard their names called this past summer in Detroit.

Decosse added seven newcomers to the roster this season. The additions come from three countries including six different states and provinces.

New to the Colgate lineup is Linda Vocetková, a first-year from Prague, Czech Republic. Vocetková represented the Czech Republic at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics and also competed in the 2024 U18 World Championship. She scored one goal in six games and helped lead the Czech Republic to its first silver medal in under-18 team history.

Emma Pais and Madeline Palumbo have been named team captains for the 2026-27 team. Avery Pickering has been selected as an alternate captain. Pais scored 18 goals and added 14 assists last season. Avery Pickering and Taylor Senecal each return on the defensive end of the ice for Colgate. The pairing each posted 15 points in the 2025-26 season.

Brooke Davis and Farah Walker each return as netminders for the Raiders. Davis finished her rookie season with an 11- 11-1 record including three shutouts. Walker posted an 8-5-0 record with one shutout.
