BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate men's and women's track and field capped off a historic weekend as they recorded their best team finishes in 10-plus years in the Outdoor Patriot League Championship.
Cole Blair highlighted the event for the Raiders as he repeated for the second year in a row as the men's long jump champion. Blair recorded a jump of 7.42 meters on his third attempt to secure the championship and 10 points for Colgate. He continued his weekend Saturday, finishing fourth in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.35 meters.
Dominique Groguhe had an intense battle in the women's discus throw as she recorded a second-place finish with a throw of 50.72 meters, .15 meters less than the first-place finisher. Groguhe's heave marked a school record and personal best.
Carollin Mellin opened up Saturday with two races after qualifying Friday afternoon in the women's 800-meter and 1500-meter runs. Mellin started the afternoon in the women's 1500-meter final with an eighth-place finish and time of 4:35.93, edging out runners from Bucknell and Boston. She finished off the day in the women's 800-meter run, crossing the finish line eighth with a time of 2:21.24.
Freshman
Clare Gillis continued the Raiders' success with two races in the women's 100 and 200-meter runs. Gillis started Saturday in the 100-meter, crossing the finish line eighth with a time of 12.23. In the 200-meter, she ran a time of 24.76 for a sixth-place finish, edging out runners from Boston.

Ethan Eisner garnered a third-place podium finish with a time of 41.42, breaking the school record. Eisner continued the successful day with a fourth-place finish in the men's 400-meter run with a time of 48.79. The men's 4x400 group of
Luca Sturgeon, R. Krill, Eisner, and Wehrly captured a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:19.74.
Sara Tabibian recorded a school freshman record and qualifying time of 1:03.43 Friday afternoon. In the finals on Saturday, she sported a time of 1:07.11 for an eighth-place finish.
Senior
Emma Pizer made a difference in Saturday's women's 5000-meter run as she crossed the finish line with a time of 17:02.31 and recorded a sixth-place finish. Pizer edged out strong runners from Lehigh, Army, and Bucknell.
Colgate recorded their best team finishes in 10-plus years as the men finish in sixth place while the women finished seventh.

UP NEXT
A select group of student-athletes will make the trip to Fairfax, Va. next weekend to take part in the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The three-day meet begins Friday and finishes Sunday.
