HAMILTON — Colgate men's hockey was ranked No. 18 in the USCHO postseason poll, announced Monday.
The Raiders cracked the top 20 on March 20 after the team won the ECAC Hockey championship for the first time since 1990.
Colgate downed No. 2 Quinnipiac 2-1 in double overtime in the semifinals and then defeated No. 6 Harvard 3-2 in the championship game to get up to No. 19.
After the championship win, men's hockey advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014, reaching the Regional Semifinals. Colgate finished the season with a 19-16-5 mark, including an 11-8-3 record in ECAC Hockey.
The Raiders posted four victories over nationally-ranked opponents this season, picking up another win over the then No.1-ranked Bobcats and a second win over the Crimson, both of which came at the Class of 1965 Arena. The team also defeated No. 11 Cornell in a shootout on home ice after tying the Big Red 4-4.
Prior to this season, the last time Colgate was ranked was in December 2017 when it reached as high as No. 16.
