Colgate Downs No. 2/1 Yale

Danielle Serdachny Breaks Program Single Season Point Record

HAMILTON – No. 4 Colgate women's ice hockey downed No. 2/1 Yale 5-3 Friday afternoon.

Danielle Serdachny etched her name into the record books, as she holds the single-season point record with 55. Serdachny collected three assists in tonight's matchup.

Elyssa Biederman and Dara Greig potted multi-point nights. The freshman forward Biederman tallied three assists while junior linemate Greig netted two goals.

Seven separate Raiders totaled points, as Kaitlyn O'Donohoe, Katie Chan, and Sammy Smigliani found the back of the net.

Kayle Osborne moved to 11-3-1 as she made 25 saves. Osborne sits second in program history with 38 career wins.

The Raiders opened up the scoring early as Greig fired the rubber top-shelf just two minutes into play. Yale answered back minutes later with a goal. Play continued for another four minutes before Greig lit the lamp again as the Raiders took a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

After a back-in-forth 13 minutes of play to start the second period, sophomore forward Chan found the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season. Colgate and Yale battled for the remaining seven minutes of play but the score remained 3-1.

O'Donohoe recorded her fifth power-play goal of the season just 33 seconds into the third period, receiving a record-breaking pass from Serdachny. The Bulldogs recorded their second goal of the game just six minutes later with a shot from the point. Smigliani scored the Raiders' fifth and final goal of the game on a breakaway chance from Biederman. Yale bounced in their third of the night but fell short as the Raiders closed out the season series sweep.
