Women's Hockey Adds Seven Newcomers

The incoming student-athletes hail from three different countries

HAMILTON - Head coach Stefan Decosse and the Colgate Women's Hockey program has announced seven new additions to the 2026-27 roster. The new faces come from three countries including six different states and provinces.

"We're thrilled to welcome this incoming class to the CWIH family. This is a group of young women who are talented, competitive, and deeply committed to growth - on the ice, in the classroom, and within our community. They share a genuine love for the game and bring the kind of character, curiosity, and drive that we believe allows student athletes to thrive at Colgate," Decosse said.

The newcomers bring a wealth of high school, junior, and international experience along with championship pedigree across all competitions.

Defense
Edmonton, Alberta
Vimy Ridge Academy

Terry heads to Hamilton as a 2026 graduate of Vimy Ridge Academy. The blue-liner represented her country as a member of U18 Team Canada at the 2026 U18 Women's World Championships. Domestically, she featured for U18 Team Alberta at the 2024 and 2025 U18 Women's Nationals, serving as team captain during the 2025 tournament. In her club career, she wore the captain's "C" from 2024-2026 and capped off her senior season with 21 points in 20 games, finishing her club tenure with 43 career points. Her performance on the ice earned her a spot on the 2025-26 Alberta Female Hockey League All-Star Team, alongside back-to-back Top Defender honors with the St. Albert Slash for both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

Mississauga Junior Hurricanes

Owen, a 2026 graduate of Appleby College, joins the roster boasting experience at both the prep and national levels. The multi-sport athlete competed in hockey and rugby, finishing her stellar high school hockey career with 67 points over 120 games. She captained the Blue Dogs during her senior campaign and played an integral role in securing three consecutive CISAA Gold Medals from 2024 to 2026. On the national stage, she represented Team Canada during the Rivalry Series in Lake Placid in August 2025 and captured a Gold Medal with Team Ontario Red at the 2024-25 Canadian National Championships. In her junior career with the Mississauga Junior Hurricanes U22 Elite, she captained the team during the 2025-26 season and guided her team to back-to-back bronze medals at the Ontario Provincial Championships. Her character and impact on the locker room were further recognized when she was honored with the Mississauga Junior Hurricanes Leadership Award for the 2025-26 season.

Sidney Ullman

Clarkson (ECAC)

Ullman joins the Raiders after one season with the Clarkson Golden Knights. The left-handed defender graduated from John Abbott College in 2025 and appeared in 11 games for Clarkson in the 2025-26 season. Ullman represented Team Québec at the 2023 Canada Winter Games and earned a spot at Hockey Canada's U18 Summer Showcase. She captained the Lac St-Louis Warriors in 2020.

Neratovice, Czech Republic
Gymnázium Teplice

Vocetková joins the roster boasting an elite international profile, highlighted by her extensive career with the Czech National Team and professional experience in Sweden's SDHL. A 2026 graduate of Gymnázium Teplice, the forward has been a centerpiece of her country's national program, transitioning to the Senior National Team for the 2025-26 season after a stellar junior international run. She represented the Czech Republic at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics and amassed 35 points in 41 games for the U18 National Team, a squad she captained during the 2024-25 season. Her international resume includes a gold medal at the 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) with the U16 team, followed by silver (2024) and bronze (2025) medals at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championships. Her world-class talent was recognized globally as she was named the Most Valuable Player at both the 2023 and 2025 U18 Women's World Championships. At the club level, she spent three seasons competing against top-tier professional talent with Djurgårdens IF in Sweden from 2023 to 2026.

Stoney Creek Sabres

Sanford joins the program as a highly accomplished, multi-sport athlete. A 2026 graduate of Appleby College, she competed in soccer, rugby, flag football, and hockey. She served as Appleby's assistant captain during a senior year where she exploded for 45 points in 43 games. On the junior circuit, she spent three seasons in the OWHA U22 Elite league, totaling 82 points over 112 career games. She captained the Stoney Creek Sabres during the 2025-26 season after serving as an assistant captain the previous year. A veteran of major tournaments, her championship pedigree includes an OWHA U22 Championship title in 2024-25, four consecutive Atlantic Challenge Cup titles from 2022 to 2025, and a silver medal at the 2025 National Championship with Team Atlantic. Her elite play also earned her an invitation to the U18 Canadian National Team camp.

Aubrey Morrison

Grimsby, Ontario
Stoney Creek Sabres

Morrison, a 2026 graduate of Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, was a dual-sport athlete in hockey and softball. The forward spent three seasons competing at the highest junior level with the Stoney Creek Sabres in the OWHA U22 Elite league. Over 137 career games with the Sabres, she generated an impressive 146 points and served as an assistant captain during the 2025-26 campaign. On the national stage, she twice earned a spot with U18 Team Canada for the Summer Series in 2024 and 2025. Additionally, she represented her province back-to-back years as a member of Team Ontario at the 2024 and 2025 U18 National Championships.

Addison Tremel
Forward
Newcastle, Wash.
Bishop Kearney

Tremel joins the Raiders following a highly decorated career with the BK Selects at Bishop Kearney High School. A 2026 graduate and National Honor Society member, the forward registered a prolific 164 points over 200 career games, including a 24-goal senior campaign. A perennial winner, she helped guide her team to five consecutive New York State Championships from 2022 to 2026, highlighted by a USA Hockey National Championship title in 2025 and national runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2024. Her elite play on the national stage earned her a selection to the 2024 USA Hockey U18 National Team, representing her country in the Summer Rivalry Series. A versatile athlete who also competed in golf, lacrosse, and track & field, she was highly active in the Bishop Kearney community, participating in the BK Mentor Program and House Leadership.
