HAMILTON – The Colgate men's and women's cross country teams hosted their annual Harry H. Lang Invitational Saturday morning against five other schools to start out the season.
The women got the day rolling, running in a competitive 4800m, with junior
Carollin Mellin finishing first for the Raiders with a time of 18:47.1.
Lauren Sterne kept Mellin company with a time of 18:55.4.
Emma Pizer rounded out the top three with a time of 19:12.6.
The men shot off after running the 6400m to end the day, as Freshman
Owen McMorrow crossed the finish line first for the Raiders, bringing in a time of 21:43.3.
Gavin Fowler followed suit, finishing with a time of 22:17.0 while
William Crounse finished out the top three with a time of 22:17.6.

"It was a beautiful day and a great start to the season for both men and women. Both teams are starting to jell. There are lots of opportunities for leadership from both the underclassmen and the seniors." Meaders continued "Coach K is doing a great job of getting the kids ready for the rest of the season."

The Raiders will have two weeks off before heading to Rochester, N.Y. for the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational. The race is set for Saturday, Sep. 17 with the women set to go off at 11 a.m. and the men to follow up at 11:45 a.m.
