Cross Country Competes at Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational

Men's finish seventh; Women's place 12th

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Colgate cross country teams competed at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday morning in Rochester, N.Y.

The men's team placed seventh out of 24 and the women's side finished 12 of 24 overall.

COACH FRANCE'S COMMENTS
"Today served as an important early-season test for our younger student-athletes as they adapted to a new race distance, while also providing an opportunity for those returning to competition to challenge themselves and shake off some rust. We are encouraged by the effort and progress demonstrated across the team at this stage of the season."

MEN

Sophomore Charlie Klatka crossed the finish line for the Raiders first with a time of 26:31.4 for the 8k. Asim Hakin-Florian finished eight seconds later at 26:39.5, while Drake Fricke and Tyler Robinson followed shortly with times of 26:43.5 and 26:49.6, respectively.

Michael Doyle rounded out the top five finishers for the Raiders with a time of 27:02.2.

WOMEN

Audrey Luell earned the Raiders on the women's side, posting a time of 24:09.7 for the 6k. Isabel Slippen was second to cross for Colgate with a time of 24:16.5.

Beatriz Engels, Penelope Schenkel, and Mia Burton rounded out the top five finishers for the Raiders.
