HAMILTON – The Raiders hosted Penn for a Sunday night affair, as the Quakers walked away by a score of 4-1. Multiple Raiders made their first appearance of the season.
The Quakers had 14 shots throughout the 90 minutes with 9 registering on net.
After hearing his name called late in the match, freshman
Colin Hughes scored the first of his career from the top of the box.
Penn fired first to start the half, scoring one off a second-chance opportunity in the middle of the box, play continued as the Raiders looked to answer back.
The Quakers continued to control the pace of play, netting two more goals bringing the lead to 3-0 after the first 45.
The Raiders squad came out for the second 45 with a little more juice as they pushed the pace in the opening minutes. Senior
John Muckstadt made his first appearance of the season, with
Andrew Cooke getting the nod in net, both slotting in to help support the Raiders defensive game.
Dale Lepper charged his way up the pitch, registering a powerful shot on the Quakers keeper, stretching out to make the save.
The Quakers found the back of the net halfway through the second half but Hughes answered back, scoring the first of his career as play continued with Penn up 4-1.
After a late Raiders goal, the Quakers walked away by a score of 4-1. Colgate sits 3-1-1 on the young season.
