French Accepted Into NCAA Career Forum

Junior Among Select Group of 200 Student-Athletes Chosen

HAMILTON, N.Y. — Katherine French, a junior on the Colgate women's rowing team, has been selected to participate in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis being held June 2-5.

The forum is an annual program that gives a select group of 200 student-athletes the chance to learn about potential careers in sports, specifically at the collegiate level. The participants get to learn from and network with current professionals in the field.

"I am thrilled that Katie was accepted to the NCAA Career Forum," said women's rowing head coach Jessica Deitrick. "She has expressed a lot of interest in continuing her athletic career as a coach and I think this will be a valuable experience for her!"

Those chosen must be in their third year or above and nominated by their school or conference. They also must have participated in an NCAA-sponsored sport during the school year.

French, an environmental geography and peace and conflict studies double major, has posted a 3.54 cumulative GPA. She earned a spot on the Patriot League Honor Roll during the 2020-21 school year.

The Bethlehem, Pa. native raced twice this past fall for the Raiders, competing at the Founders Cup and Head of the Charles.
