BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate Women's Soccer senior
Emily Amano was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the second postseason honor for Amano this season after the midfielder was named to the All-Patriot League Third Team last Friday.
Amano, a Computer Science and Chemistry double major, has excelled in the classroom, holding a 3.88 cumulative GPA and earning Dean's List with Distinction honors.
This season, Amano played in 16 games, starting 15 of them. She logged 1,033 minutes of action during the year and tallied four points with two goals. Amano also fired a career-high 24 shots, 14 of which were on goal. She finished third on the team in shots and tied for second in shots on goal.
Both of Amano's goals were game-winners, as she helped Colgate pick up victories over Boston University and Holy Cross. She finished second in the Patriot League in game-winning goals.
The Ottawa, Ontario native has also been a leader for the program, serving as one of the team captains this past season.
Amano's other previous academic achievements include being named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice and the Raider Academic Honor Roll.
