ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Colgate women's tennis team finished the 2021 season with a 4-0 loss to Navy in the Patriot League Quarterfinals.
The Raiders finish the season with a 4-5 record while Navy advances to the Patriot League Semifinals with a 6-3 overall record.
Colgate played competitively in the doubles matches but fell 6-1 and 6-1 to give Navy the doubles point. The duo of junior
Elizabeth Laub and senior
Callie Bartimer were down 5-1 when the doubles matches ended.
Before the match was called, sophomore
Rebecca Wolf was trailing 6-1, 5-1 in a close match. At No. 3 singles, sophomore
Katerina Atallah was in a tight match as she was trailing 6-1, 5-3 when the match called.
Also having a great match was sophomore
Emily Untermeyer as the No. 4 singles player was down 6-1, 5-2 when the match ended.

On the women's match, head coach Bobby Pennington said, "Very proud our women made it through this unusual season unscathed. We played all eight of our regular season matches and the tournament, which is a miraculous accomplishment. Navy, Army and Boston are way too elite and are at the next level one through six.
