HAMILTON – Behind strong singles play, the Colgate women's tennis team concluded the regular season with a 5-2 win over Lafayette.
 
The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, sophomores Rebecca Wolf and Emily Untermeyer won 6-2. The duo of sophomores Emme Levenson and Katerina Atallah won 7-6, and senior Callie Bartimer and junior Elizabeth Laub won at No. 3 doubles 6-4.
 
At singles, Untermeyer extended Colgate's lead as she won 7-5, 6-2. Wolf won her match in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 and Atallah clinched the win at No. 3 singles as she won 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.
 
Levenson played a competitive match at No. 1 singles as she won 6-3 in the first set but fell in the second set 6-4. She battled back to win the third set 6-4.
 
With the win, Colgate is now 4-4 on the year with a 2-3 record in the Patriot League.

On the women's match against Lafayette, head coach Bobby Pennington said, "I was incredibly proud of our ladies today. We were missing our No. 2 Sara De Oliveira and all the ladies stepped up huge in doubles and singles. We swept at doubles with Bartimer and Laub coming it at No. 3 serving and volleying to the win.
 
"In singles, Levenson and Atallah won three set marathons, and Wolf and Untermeyer won in straight sets. We finish the regular season at 4-4 on a two-match winning streak. We now set our sights on the Patriot League Tournament."
