HAMILTON – Continued to be recognized on a national level, Colgate men's hockey captain Bobby McMann has been named a candidate for the 2019-20 Senior CLASS Award.
 
One of the top-20 candidates, McMann tops the team with his seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. Consistently leading the Raiders throughout his career, McMann is a two-time award winner of the team's Best Offensive Player Award and three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team honoree.
 
A native of Wainwright, Alberta, McMann served as an assistant captain in his junior campaign, a season in which he was named to All-ECAC Hockey Third Team accolades. Through his 133 games played, the forward has totaled 86 points by 34 goals and 52 assists, including seven game-winning goals.
 
As an economics major and theater minor, McMann has garnered a 3.45 cumulative GPA, including a 3.78 in his most recent semester.
 
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character, and competition.
 
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS
Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
 
The top-20 candidates are to be narrowed down to the top-10 finalists in February. The top-10 student-athletes up for the Senior CLASS Award will be put to a nationwide vote including media members, coaches, and fans, to select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character, and competition.
 
The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2020 NCAA Men's Frozen Final Four ® in April. Bios on all nominees can be found by following the links on each candidate HERE.
