PRINCETON, N.J./BETHLEHEM, Pa.—The Colgate Women's Track & Field team had split squad action Saturday afternoon at the Larry Ellis Invite and Greyhound Invite.
Greyhound Invite (Bethlehem, Pa.)
The bulk of the Raiders' squad was at Moravian to compete in a myriad events. The day was highlighted by a pair of victories in distance events.
Skyler Berardi continued a strong stretch of two weeks when she got the Raiders on the board with a first place finish in the 15000 Meter Run with a time of 4:48.12, which was also a PR.
Zoe Zeltner finished 17th in the event, but tallied a big PR when she crossed the line in 5:14.08 to set a new collegiate best mark by nearly 20 seconds.
The second win of the day came from
Hannah Gunther. She sped to a time of 39:31.80 in the 10,000 Meter Run to claim top honors.
Denise Larson set a new PR by over a minute in the event when she finished fourth with a time of 40:34.13.
Lexi Walsh rounded out the top-5 for the Raiders when she came in fifth with a mark of 41:03.41.
A pair of top-10 finishes came from the Raiders' group of throwers.
Maya LaRosiliere registered a seventh place mark in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 33.71 and
Olivia Krogermeier had a collegiate best heave of 31.37 meters to finish ninth. Julia Zaborowsky had no mark in the event.
Megan Maloney also had a top-10 finish when she claimed seventh in the Javelin Throw with a toss of 31.43 meters.
Another PR was achieved by
Amanda Gollaher, who had her collegiate best leap in the Pole Vault when she cleared 2.75 meters for a 15th place finish.
Julia Zaborowsky claimed 13th in the Discus Throw thanks to her heave of 22.70 meters.
In the 800 Meter Run,
Sophia Manners crossed the line in 2:29.87 for a 21st place finish and
Danielle Zarnick set a new PR in the event with her 32nd place time of 2:39.42.
Larry Ellis Invite (Princeton, N.J.)
Five athletes traveled to Princeton to compete for the Raiders in the Larry Ellis Invite. The top finish of the day came from Colgate's 4x400 Meter Relay team of
Reagan Darrah,
Sarah Silverman,
Carly Schwartz and
Marina Reilly. The combined to finish in 4:08.03, which was good for sixth.
Reilly was busy elsewhere, as she competed in three events on the day, which was the most for the Raiders. She also claimed ninth in the Long Jump when she traveled 5.23 meters.
Rachel Schaaf took 13th in the event with a mark of 5.05 meters. Reilly also took ninth in the Triple Jump with a final mark of 11.18, followed by Schaaf in 11th after a leap of 10.72 meters.
Schwartz also took part in the 400 Meter Dash and took home 33rd after a final time of 1:03.98.
