Reilly Soars in Blue and Orange Invitational

Senior Wins Long Jump to Lead Colgate at Utica

UTICA, N.Y.—Marina Reilly leaped to victory in the Long Jump to pace the Colgate Women's Track and Field team at the Blue and Orange Invitational Saturday.

She bested all other competitors when the senior finished with a mark of 5.37m. Sarah Sampson and Rachel Schaaf also had high finishes in the event. The latter came in third with a PR jump of 5.18m and Schaaf was fourth with a mark of 5.17m.

Reilly also took part in the 200 Meter Dash, as she finished seventh with a time of 27.47. And Schaaf capped her day with a 15th place finish in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 8.71.

Regine Cooper continued her strong winter with another successful day of throws. She almost earned top honors when she finished second in the weight throw with a heave of 14.40m. She also finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.36m.

Maya LaRosiliere also took part in both throwing events and had personal bests in both. She had a toss of 9.47m in the Weight Throw (26th) and 5.75m in the Shot Put (29th).

Isa Cunio had a busy day for the Raiders. It started with a sixth place finish in the 60 Meter Dash prelim with a time of 8.34. She also had the same time in the finals, where she placed sixth again. It set a PR for her by one hundredth of a second.

She capped her strong day with a mark of 28.00 in the 200 Meter Dash for a 12th place finish.

Carly Schwartz claimed a top-five finish for the Raiders in the 500 Meter Dash. She came in fifth when she ran the event in 1:24.67.

Vicky Martinez had a very high finish for the Raiders, as she came in second place in the 5000 Meter Run with her final time of 18:52.15. She was also a part of the 4x400 Meter Relay team with Sophia Manners, Lexi Walsh and Hannah Gunther that ran a time of 4:27.57 for an eighth place finish.

Manners and Gunther landed top-10 finishes elsewhere for the Raiders, which doubled as PRs for both of them. Manners' came in ninth in the 1000 Meter Run with a time of 3:17.14.

Gunthers' high finish was in the One Mile run with a 10th place mark of 5:37.21.

Danielle Zarnick also ran the One Mile run and finished 22nd with a time of 6:06.01, which was also a personal best time.

Elsewhere for the Raiders, Lexi Walsh claimed yet another PR, as she finished the 800 Meter Run in 2:29.87 for 15th. Denise Larson had another PR for Colgate when she ran the 3000 Meter Run in 10:56.11.

Also, Kira Palmer and Amanda Gollaher both competed in the Pole Vault.

The Raiders are home next, as they host the Class of 1932 Invitational in Hamilton. The event is set for Feb. 9.
