ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Colgate Women's Track & Field team finished the second and final day of competition in the Patriot League Championships at Wesley Brown Field House Sunday in style thanks to
Marina Reilly.
The Raiders finished 10th in team scoring with Reilly accounting for all points scored. The senior earned four team points when she set a new school record in the Triple Jump. She finished fifth in her flight and fifth overall when she soared 11.82m, which was also an ECAC/IC4A qualifier performance.
Rachel Schaaf also took part in the event and was third in her flight with a mark of 11.14m.
Day two was one of personal bests for the Raiders and none was better than
Denise Larson's. She ran the 3000 Meter Run in 10:39.89, which beat her previous best by nearly 17 seconds and was good enough for 12th place.
Hannah Gunther also had a PR in the event when she ran it in 10:49.31 for 15th.
Regine Cooper also had a clutch performance when she finished 3rd in the Shot Put with a toss of 12.45m.
The PRs kept rolling in the 800 Meter Run thanks to
Reagan Darrah and
Sophia Manners. Darrah had a mark of 2:22.89 for fourth in her section, while Manners was fifth in the same section with a time of 2:26.84.
Sarah Silverman also had a collegiate best on the day. She had a tiem of 1:21.87 in the 500 Meter Dash, which put her second in her section.
Silverman also teamed with Darrah,
Carly Schwartz and Reilly in the 4x400 Meter Relay. The quartet crossed the line in 4:05.93 for third place in their section.
Colgate's other relay team on the day was the Distance Medley. The group of
Lexi Walsh,
Zoe Zeltner,
Skyler Berardi and
Vicky Martinez came in 10th after their run of 12:38.66.
Day 1
Reilly continued her stellar indoor season and led the Raiders in the Long Jump. She had a leap of 5.45m, which narrowly missed a personal record and was good enough for second overall. Three other Colgate competitors took part in the event and also had solid performances. Schaaf finished at 5.17m to claim eighth place.
Sarah Sampson was just behind her teammate at 5.03m for ninth.
Kayla Park also claimed a top-10 spot when she finished 10th in the event with a mark of 4.90m.
In the throws, Cooper earned another top-10 slot for the Raiders. She had a toss of 14.02m to take seventh place in the Weight Throw.
Isa Cunio also took part in the championship and had a run to remember. She set a new personal record in the 60 Meter Dash with her time of 8.24, which was good enough for sixth place in her heat.
Colgate had one relay team in action at Navy, which was the 4x800 meter squad of Martinez, Walsh, Berardi and Manners. That quartet claimed 10th place with their time of 9:30.71.
