ITHACA, N.Y.—Kayla Park's two personal records led a nine PR performance for the Colgate Women's Track & Field team Saturday at the Upstate Challenge at Cornell.
Park's two PRs started with an 8.41 performance in the 60 Meter Dash prelims, which was good enough for fifth place. She capped off her impressive days when she ran the 200 Meter Dash in 28.06, which gave her a second place finish in Section Four.
There was also an astounding number of personal bests for the Raiders in the 1000 Meter Run Section Two.
Skyler Berardi (fifth, 3:12.61),
Reagan Darrah (sixth, 3:13.46),
Marie Nevils (seventh, 3:16.07),
Elizabeth Timoney (eighth, 3:18.97) and
Sarah Silverman (ninth, 3:30.07) all sprinted to new personal records to spark Colgate.
The other personal records for the Raiders came from
Denise Larson,
Sophia Manners and
Rachel Schaaf. Larson got hers when she when she came in sixth in the 800 Meter Run Section Two with a finishing time of 2:31.32. Manners got hers with a time of 5:44.09 in the One Mile Run Section Two, which was good enough for eighth. Schaaf was third in the Long Jump Flight One with a leap of 5.41. She completed her strong day with a fifth place finish in the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.14m.
Marina Reilly once again had a busy day for Colgate. She competed in a trio of events, including a second place finish in the 200 Meter Dash Section Five with a time of 28.65. She also came in sixth in both the Long Jump (5.35m) and Triple Jump (10.95m) to complete an eventful afternoon.
Vicky Martinez also took part in multiple events with good success. She came in second place in the 800 Meter Run Section Two with a time of 2:25.73. She also teamed with Berardi, Larson and
Zoe Zeltner in the Distance Medley Section One to finish with a time of 13:23.09.
Isa Cunio competed in a pair of events, as she ran the 60 Meter Dash in 8.41 to finish fifth in the prelims. And she also finished second in the 200 Meter Dash Section Four with a time of 28.06.
Regine Cooper once again competed in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw for the Raiders. She had a final mark of 12.60m in the Shot Put and 13.76m in the Weight Throw to finish her day.
Elsewhere for the Raiders, Darrah, Nevils, Timoney and Silverman combined to run the 4x400 Meter Relay in 4:32.64.
Danielle Zarnick finished eighth in the 800 Meter Run Section Two with a time of 2:46.18 and
Kira Palmer competed in the Pole Vault.

"The women had a very solid showing today," said Williams. "They put their best foot forward, put points on the board, and hung in with the competition."
"The positive part is we still have more we could work on," said Williams. "We're heading in the right direction as long as we continue to work hard and stay focused."
