Box Score 1 DELAND, Fla. – A seventh-inning rally fell just short as Colgate dropped a 3-1 battle to North Dakota State Sunday afternoon at the Stetson Westin Invitational. The tournament finale against Columbia that was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. was rained out.
Colgate and NDSU were locked in a pitchers' duel through the first few frames. Senior pitcher
Gillian Murray limited the Bison to just one hit through the first four innings until NDSU used an RBI base hit from Madyson Camacho to plate the game's first run and take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.
The Bison added two more runs in the sixth thanks to a two-run double from Lauren Reimers. Senior
Katie Bushee and first-year
Virginia Irby used singles to get on base in the top of the seventh before a sacrifice fly from junior
Holly Geranen scored Bushee to put Colgate on the board. The Raiders weren't able to get anything else, however, as NDSU and defending Summit League Pitcher of the Year Jacquelyn Sertic held on for the 3-1 victory.
