Softball's Stellar Season Ends in Boston

Raiders fall to Terriers, 12-1, in Patriot League championship round

BOSTON – Colgate's record-breaking season reached its conclusion Saturday afternoon as the Raiders fell to top-seeded Boston University, 12-1, in the Patriot League Championship at the BU Softball Stadium.

The Raiders finish the 2026 campaign with a 29-26 overall record, marking the program's winningest season since 2004. Making its first title game appearance since 2011, Colgate rewrote the program record books – most notably shattering the single-season home run record with 88 blasts, good for 16th in the nation.

COACH LAMISON-MYERS COMMENTS

"I couldn't be prouder of this group. With a roster of 15 it could have been a tall task getting into the tournament let alone making the championship game. I am grateful for the four years I have had coaching Alexa and Maya. Without them, making it this far wouldn't have been possible. They are everything that makes Colgate Softball great. Moving forward, knowing how young we are, this is only the beginning. Yes we head into the offseason but the work will continue."

HOW IT HAPPENED

The "Slamilton" offense flashed its power one final time in the second inning. Trailing 3-0, senior Alexa Acker provided a spark with a solo home run to right-center. It was the second homer of Acker's career and her first of the season, cutting the deficit to 3-1.

Boston U showed its own power behind Patriot League Player of the Year Kylie Doherty, who had two home runs, including a fourth-inning grand slam that blew the game open, 9-1. The Terriers tacked on three more runs in the fifth to seal the 12-1 final score.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • In their final collegiate appearances, seniors Maya Servedio and Alexa Acker both saw action in the circle in relief. Servedio, Acker, and Kelcie McGraw each tossed 1 2/3 innings. McGraw and Servedio registered Colgate's two strikeouts in the game.
  • Acker and Analisa Raffaelli accounted for the Raiders' two hits in the contest.
