Stroud, Ouligian Named First Team All-Patriot League

Colgate’s Two Leading Scorers Collect All-League Honors

HAMILTON – Colgate men's soccer senior Jared Stroud and junior Aram Ouligian have been named first team All-Patriot League, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Stroud collects the third All-Patriot League honor of his career and second-straight first team accolade. The senior midfielder finished the regular season with 15 points behind three goals and school-record nine assists. Stroud took control of the program's career and single-season assists records this season, currently holding down marks of 26 career helpers and nine assists this season with postseason play still to come. All three of Stroud's goals this season game by way of penalty kick, as he converted PK opportunities against Lehigh, Bucknell and Holy Cross. The Chester, N.J. native tallied three multi-assist games, including a season-high three helpers against Lehigh. Stroud earned two Patriot League Midfielder of the Week awards this season, collecting the honors on Sept. 4 and Oct. 30.

Ouligian led the Colgate defense to five shutouts this season, and also finished the regular season as the Raiders' leading scorer with 16 points behind seven goals and two assists. Five of his goals came in Patriot League play to help the Raiders secure their third-straight trip to the Patriot League Tournament. The Needham, Mass. native scored a goal in Colgate's final four games of the regular season. Ouligian led the Raider backline to shutouts of Northwestern (2-0), Princeton (1-0), Oregon State (1-0), American (2-0) and Boston University (4-0) as the anchor of the Colgate defense. Ouligian collects All-League honors for the third time in his career after picking up third team laurels as both a freshman and sophomore.
 
The Raiders won their final two games of the regular season to secure their third-straight trip to the Patriot League Tournament.  Colgate wrapped up league play with a 4-4-1 mark to earn the No. 6 seed in the upcoming tournament. The Raiders will head to No. 3 Bucknell Tuesday night for a quarterfinal matchup.
