ITHACA, N.Y. -- Colgate and Cornell reached the bottom of the second inning here Wednesday when heavy rains forced the cancellation of this year's contest.
The teams agreed that the 2015 edition of the Central New York rivalry will not be played. Wednesday's game already had been moved from its original location at Colgate because of wet grounds in Hamilton.
The Raiders (9-10, 5-1 Patriot) now begin their home schedule this Saturday at Eaton Street Field with a noon doubleheader against Lafayette (3-22, 1-5). The teams meet again Sunday in a noon single game.
Colgate begins the weekend alone in second place in the Patriot League, trailing only Lehigh (24-3, 8-0).Â
