HAMILTON – A night to remember turned into a goal that won't soon be forgotten.

Colgate christened the brand new Beyer-Small '76 Field with a penalty kick goal by sophomore Ethan Kutler one minute and 42 seconds into double overtime for a 1-0 win over Saint Mary's here Friday night.

The standing room only crowd that packed Colgate's new stadium erupted as Kutler placed the ball calmly into the left hand corner of the net for the game-winner. The goal marked Kutler's third career goal and first game-winner in a Colgate uniform.

Fellow classmate Ricky Brown posted his second career shutout between the pipes, while matching his career high in saves with six.

Prior to the exciting match a field dedication ceremony occurred to thank John W. Beyer and Barry J. Small for their exceptional devotion to Colgate soccer and the new facility.

The Raiders are next on the pitch Sunday when they host Niagara in the second game of the Central New York Classic. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Beyer-Small '76 Field.
