WORCESTER, Mass. - The Raiders earned a point on the road against Holy Cross on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening period saw Colgate assert early pressure with an attack led by Cole Ramey, who registered two shots, including one in the 19th minute that went narrowly wide. Cason Stafford added to the offensive efforts with another attempt on goal. Despite these efforts, Colgate was unable to convert any chances into goals.
Defensively, Colgate maintained a solid stance, successfully limiting Holy Cross to a few key opportunities. Eric Widrick, in goal for Colgate, remained untested as the Crusaders' shots narrowly missed the target. As the half concluded, Colgate held steady, entering the break with the score level at 0-0.
The second half began with the Crusaders attempting to create opportunities on offense, but Widrick delivered key saves to keep Colgate in the match. Widrick saved shots from Thomas Mancuso and Jack Fiedler early in the half, maintaining a scoreless game.
Colgate had its own chances, with Colin Hughes and Stafford both registering shots, but neither could find the back of the net. Despite increased offensive pressure from both sides, neither team managed to score, and the match concluded with the score still level at 0-0.
