HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate Athletics celebrates 2012-2013 as not only the "Year of Colgate University" but also the 40th anniversary of women's athletics. It was 40 years ago that women's varsity sports first donned the Maroon and White uniforms. Since then, championships, all-star honors and team unity have become a hallmark of the 'Gate.
One of the ways we are celebrating this milestone is at each home football game this season, Colgate will honor former female student-athletes that have contributed to the success of Colgate's women's varsity programs. In addition, each of the women's varsity teams will dedicate one of their games to recognize this 40 years celebration by bringing former student-athletes back to campus to recognize them for achievements.
