HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate football's opening game against Albany drew an impressive crowd to cheer on the Raiders as the final attendance number was announced at 5,217.
In front of that large crowd, Colgate hosted Pop Warner Day. This day included 45 Pop Warner youth football players accompanied by the Pop Warner cheerleaders. It was a great night as the kids were excited to cheer on the Raiders. The Pop Warner teams and cheerleaders had a great time as they lined up as part of the pregame tunnel for the Colgate football team as they ran on the field. They also provided the halftime entertainment by playing in front of the large crowd.
Colgate also welcomed its inaugural Kick-Off Kid, Noah Hicks, for this game. To learn more about how your child could be Colgate's next Kick-Off Kid, please visit gocolgateraiders.com. The fun didn't stop there, the first 1,000 fans at the game also received free glow sticks!
It was a hard fought battle between the Raiders and Albany with the finish coming right down to the wire. Unfortunately Colgate didn't come away with the result it was looking for, but the Raiders look to bounce back this week at New Hampshire.
The next game at Andy Kerr Stadium is the featured event on homecoming weekend. The Raiders take on Ivy League foe Yale at 1 p.m. on Sept. 21. Make sure to get out to Andy Kerr Stadium to cheer on your Raiders and see what exciting things are in store for Raider fans!
