HAMILTON – Saturday's men's basketball game will feature numerous special events, including Colgate's annual Alzheimer's Awareness Game.
When the Raiders take on Lehigh at noon on Cotterell Court Colgate will be wearing purple in support of creating awareness for Alzheimer's.
Colgate Athletics is proud to partner with Georgia Vieira, Associate Development Director of the Syracuse Alzheimer's Association, and Beta Theta Pi to help raise awareness of this disease.
Head coach
Matt Langel and the rest of the Raider team has chosen to fundraise for the Alzheimer's Association, an initiative created to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research to enhance care and support for all affected. This cause is close to the hearts of the team and the Hamilton community.
The special day will also include free t-shirts for the first 300 fans, free Gilligan's ice cream, a game day raffle for gift cards and Colgate gear, and a bake sale hosted by Beta Theta Pi, and free admission for fans that wear purple. All proceeds will be donated to the Syracuse Alzheimer's Association.
Saturday's game will also be the final home regular season contest for seven student-athletes. There will be a senior day presentation prior to the start of the game that is scheduled to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
This will be the third time this season the Raiders will be featured on national television and the contest will not be streamed on Colgate's usual
Channel 1. Jason Knapp and Chris Spatola will have the call.
