HAMILTON - It was announced today by Major League Soccer that senior
Mike Reidy was selected by Sporting Kansas City in the fourth round of their 2013 Supplemental Draft.
The Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year was chosen 71st overall in the draft and will join the team for the remainder of their preseason camp.
"It's an honor. I'm so thankful to Sporting KC for this opportunity," Reidy said. "It's a dream come true. I'm so excited to get out there and start training with the team."
This past season, Reidy led the conference in goals with seven and game-winning goals with three. He was also second in the conference with 56 shots and 16 points. The Webster, N.Y., native led the Raiders to their third-consecutive postseason appearance.

During his rookie campaign, Reidy was named the 2009 PL Rookie of the Year. A season in which he started 15 out of Colgate's 17 games; grabbing seven goals (led the team) and one assist for 15 season points. In his sophomore year, he played in all 19 games for Colgate, scoring three goals and adding two assists.
Reidy's junior year showed much of the same, finishing the season with eight points from two goals and four assists. He was named to the 2011 Patriot League All-Tournament Team, after he helped the Raiders bring home the PL Title.
Throughout his career he saw action in 77 games for the Raiders, notching 19 goals and eight assists. He tallied seven game-winning goals and finished 12th in Colgate history with 47 career points.

Reidy is the second Colgate player in two years to be chosen in the MLS Supplemental Draft. Last year Steven Miller was selected by the Montreal Impact after his impressive four years with Colgate.
Sporting Kansas City is currently in Tucson, Ariz., for the team's preseason and will scrimmage against the New England Revolution on Friday in Casa Grande, Ariz., before playing a pair of matches in The Desert Friendlies presented by FC Tucson next week. The club will then travel to Orlando, Fla., next month to participate in the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic prior to the MLS season opener on March 2 at the Philadelphia Union.
