HAMILTON, N.Y. (8/21/12) – Attention all Raider Nation fans, Colgate Athletics has started its 2012-13 campaign, and our marketing and promotions team has a put together a great week of athletic events and promotions for you to attend! 

We look for your 'Gate pride and support throughout this upcoming year, by coming out to these exciting events with your favorite Colgate student-athletes. Below are the promotional events for the week of August 21-27th:

“Kick with the Raiders”
Wednesday, August 22nd 6:00pm @ Colgate soccer practice fields

What: “Kick with the Raiders” event
Who: Everyone
When: Wednesday, August 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Colgate University soccer practice fields next to Andy Kerr stadium
Admission: FREE

The Colgate University men's and women's soccer teams are inviting all kids and their families for their 3rd annual “Kick With the Raiders” event tomorrow Wednesday, August 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Colgate university's soccer practice fields. The event, which is open to the public, will give everyone the opportunity to meet and get autographs from their favorite Colgate soccer players and coaches. There will also be a series of competitions for participants which include shooting on the Colgate goalies, soccer relay races, and compete one-on-one with the players to name a few. Admission for this event is FREE. Soccer attire is optional for participants and all skill levels are welcome. Tennis shoes or rubber cleats are recommended, but not required. Pizza and drinks will be provided at the venue and there will be parking available at Andy Kerr stadium and Tyler's Field.

Friday, August 24th @ Van Doren Field
Men's Soccer vs. Binghamton @ 4:30pm
Women's Soccer vs. University of Washington @ 7:30pm

The Colgate men's and women's soccer teams, who are coming off a Patriot League Tournament Championship and a regular season title, respectively, will be hosting a doubleheader on Friday, Aug. 24, starting at 4:30 p.m. The Colgate men's soccer team will kick off its 2012 season at 4:30 pm, when they will take on the instate rival Binghamton. After that matchup the Colgate women's soccer team will be taking on Pac-12 opponent Washington at 7:30 p.m. and both games will be at Van Doren Field and is free for the public. T-shirts, giveaways, posters, schedule cards, and much more will be given out at both events. The Kid Zone will be open for the kids to enjoy and entertain throughout the day and “Raider” will be in attendance as well. If fans want to tailgate and BBQ before the games, you can at the Andy Kerr Stadium parking lot 90 minutes prior to the start of the game. If you can't make it to the games, they both will be televised on the our local Time Warner Cable Sports.

Colgate First-Year Frenzy (Cotterell Court)
Volleyball vs. Syracuse @ 7:30pm

The 2012 Colgate volleyball team will be taking on Syracuse, in the final match of the Colgate Classic this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. This game is the official “First-Year” orientation game for incoming students. Incoming first-year students will receive a Colgate athletic pack for attending this match-up. Colgate posters and schedule cards will available to the public. Additional festivities will include in-game promotions that all fans will be able to participate in. Your favorite fan “Raider” will also be in attendance for this game.

Also this week the Colgate field hockey will also be opening up their 2012 campaign on Friday and Saturday, with home games vs.  Ohio (Fri. 8/24 @ 7:00pm) and Bryant (Sat. 8/25 @ 1:30pm).
