The Colgate University men's basketball team will look to snap its four-game losing skid and win for the first time in program history at Bender Arena when it begins Patriot League play at American on Saturday, Jan. 7. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on Patriot League All-Access.

THE SERIES WITH AMERICAN
This will be the 26th meeting between Colgate and American with the Eagles leading the all-time series 21-4. American won all three meetings last season, including a 69-53 win in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. Colgate's last win came during the 2009-10 season 75-74 in double overtime at Cotterell Court.
LAST TIME OUT

Pat Moore scored a team-high 18 points but it wasn't enough as the Colgate men's basketball team dropped its fourth-straight game with a 66-59 loss to Columbia Wednesday night at Cotterell Court.
Moore led the Raiders with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, while freshman guard
Luke Roh scored a career-high eight points. Three other Raiders added eight points apiece.
Columbia shot 43.6 percent from the floor, including 50 percent in the second half, while Colgate shot 42 percent overall and 30.8 percent from downtown. Colgate won the battle on the boards 35-29, but committed 18 turnovers that resulted in 11 points for the Lions.
SCOUTING AMERICAN (9-6, 0-0)
The American University men's basketball team bounced back from a loss at Mount St. Mary's with a 70-61 victory over Brown in its final non-conference game of the season. Charles Hinkle led the team on both ends of the floor posting a game-high 25 points and team-high seven rebounds.
Hinkle was 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line in the game. Blake Jolivette and Daniel Munoz each notched 10 points. Munoz added a team-high seven assists.
The Eagles shot 55.8 percent from the field in the game and 66.7 percent from three-point range. The Eagles were almost perfect from the charity stripe, going 16-of-17. American outrebounded the Bears by a 30-27 margin. Brown was 41.0 percent from the field and 31.0 percent from three-point range.

Nick Pascale is closing in on becoming just the fifth Raider in school history to score 500 or more points, grab 500 or more rebounds and block 100 or more shots in a career. Pascale currently has 494 points, 484 rebounds and 95 blocked shots.
ROLLING IN THE THREES

Mitch Rolls currently ranks second the Patriot League in three-point field goal percentage, knocking down 47.2 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. Rolls has made 25-of-53 three-pointers this season, while senior
Mike Venezia has made 27-of-60 three-pointers (45 percent) which ranks sixth in the League. As a team the Raiders rank second in the Patriot League with a 39.3 three-point field goal percent.
1,000 POINTS AND COUNTING

Yaw Gyawu became the 28th player in school history to join the 1,000-point club. Gyawu currently has 1,165 points which ranks 20th, only seven points behind Jon Simon (1,172) for 19th overall.
VENEZIA KEEPS RAINING THREES

Mike Venezia has made a total of 169 three-pointers in his career which ranks seventh all-time at Colgate, just one behind Alvin Reed for sixth. Former teammate Kyle Roemer '10 holds the school record (267), while director of basketball operations
Mark Linebaugh '04 ranks fifth with 173. Venezia is also 122 points (878) away from becoming the 29th Raider to join the 1,000-point club.
SHOOT WITH THE RAIDERS
The Colgate University men's and women's basketball teams are inviting fans and friends to join them for the seventh annual “Shoot With The Raiders” event on Sunday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Cotterell Court in the Reid Athletic Center.
The event, which is open to the public, will give fans the opportunity to meet and get autographs from their favorite players and coaches. There will also be a series of skill competitions and drills for participants which include shooting, basketball relay races, and more to name a few. Admission for the event is free.
