The Colgate University men's basketball team will look to grab its third-straight win, for the first time since 2010, when it travels to Hofstra on Thursday, Dec. 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Mack Sports Complex.

THE SERIES WITH HOFSTRA
This will be the fourth meeting between Colgate and Hofstra with the Pride leading the all-time series 3-0. Hofstra won both of the meetings during the 1997-98 season, including a 95-85 victory in Hempstead, N.Y.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior forward Sterling Melville made two free throws with 2.7 seconds remaining regulation to force overtime as the Colgate men's basketball team topped Dartmouth 61-55 Monday night at Cotterell Court.

The Raiders (5-5), who were down by as many as eight points in the second half, trailed 48-45 in the final seconds of the game. Dartmouth fouled Mitch Rolls to avoid a three-point attempt. The junior sank the first free throw and missed the second, but Melville was fouled on the rebound and then made a pair of free throws to tie the score with 2.7 seconds left. Colgate carried the momentum into overtime, starting with a three-point play by Nick Pascale and leading throughout the extra session for the 61-55 win. Yaw Gyawu led Colgate with 16 points, while five others had at least six points. The Raiders improved to 4-0 at home, its longest winning streak at Cotterell Court since 2000-01.

SCOUTING HOFSTRA (4-7)
Senior Mike Moore scored a career-high 32 points and tied a school record with seven three-pointers to lift the Pride to an 82-62 victory over Binghamton on Saturday afternoon at the Mack Sports Complex.

Hofstra never trailed in the last 37:23 of the game, racing to a 40-28 halftime lead. Moore found a comfort zone on the perimeter from the outset, knocking down four three-pointers in the opening half en route to 19 points before the break. Hofstra led by as much as 24 points in the second half and Binghamton never got closer than 14 in the final 10 minutes. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Pride.

BEST START IN FOUR YEARS
Colgate has won five of its first 10 games to start the season for the first time since 2007-08 (6-4). The Raiders are also just two wins shy of tying the school-record of seven before January.

RAIDERS ENJOY HOME COOKING
Colgate is a perfect 4-0 at home this season, which is the best start for the Raiders since the 2000-01 season when they started 5-0. Colgate's best start at home came during the 1976-77 season when the Raiders started 9-0.

500-500-100
Colgate senior Nick Pascale is closing in on becoming just the fifth Raider in school history to score 500 or more points, grab 500 or more rebounds and block 100 or more shots in a career. Pascale currently has 459 points, 456 rebounds and 93 blocked shots.

1,000 POINTS AND COUNTING
Last season, senior forward Yaw Gyawu became the 28th player in school history to join the 1,000-point club. Gyawu currently has 1,157 points which ranks 22nd, only one point behind Ed Muntner and Bill Dodd (1,158) for 20th overall.

VENEZIA KEEPS RAINING THREES
Colgate senior Mike Venezia has made a total of 159 three-pointers in his career which ranks seventh all-time in the Colgate record books. Former teammate Kyle Roemer '10 holds the school record (267), while director of basketball operations Mark Linebaugh '04 ranks fifth with 173. Venezia is also 166 points (834) away from becoming the 29th Raider to join the 1,000-point club.
