FINAL RESULTS

LEWISBURG, Pa. (11/13/10) –
The Colgate women's swimming and diving team opened the Patriot League season with a dismantling of Bucknell by a 156-87 margin on Saturday afternoon.

Senior captains Caren Guyett (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Erin McGraw (Penfield, N.Y.) led the way with a pair of individual wins and a victory in the 400-yard medley relay. In the relay, they were joined by sophomores Lia Kunnapas (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and Emma Santoro (Fall River, Mass.) and finished with a first-place time of 3:52.33.

Guyett was able to come out on top in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:28.07 and the 500-yard free at 4:58.73. McGraw took home wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard fly. She finished first with a time of 1:53.57 in her first event, which was the 200-yard free. McGraw returned to the pool in the 200-yard fly and posted a time of 2:06.81 for the top spot.

Junior Erica Derlath (Garden City, N.Y.) contributed with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle with a mark of 10:22.11. Santoro chipped in the 200-yard breaststroke with a first-place time at 2:19.64. Kunnapas also came out on top in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:05.02.

Sophomore Kim Pilka (Great Falls, Va.) continues to dominate opponents on the board and the Bison felt it today. She won the 1-meter dive with 244.65 points and the closest finisher was at 207.23 points. Pilka then went out and did the same in the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.70 and the second-place finisher ended up with 239.63.

The Colgate women will be back on the road next weekend as the Raiders take on Duquesne in Pittsburgh, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
