Raiders Stay Strong on Day 2 of Patriot Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Colgate turned in a strong showing Thursday evening at the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships, recording multiple A-final appearances, a fourth-place relay finish, and key points from both the men's and women's squads inside Navy's Lejeune Hall. 

Through two days of championship action, Colgate women are in sixth with 255 points. The men's team is ninth with 150 points.

Audrey Collins delivered one of the top performances of the night for the Raiders, placing fourth in the 200-yard IM with a finals time of 2:01.25. Collins' A-final swim secured 26 team points and highlighted Colgate's presence among the league's elite competitors.

Colgate's 400-yard medley relay team of MG King, Natalie Hofer, Collins, and Paige Fisher earned a fourth-place finish in 3:39.59, touching just two-hundredths behind third place for a podium finish. The quartet combined for 52 points in a tightly contested championship final. King broke the program record in the 100 Back with a time of 54.37.

In the 500-yard freestyle, first-year Katie Miller placed seventh in the A final with a 4:56.18, scoring 23 points. Teammate MG King added points in the B final, finishing 16th overall (5:01.51).

The Raiders placed two swimmers in the 200 IM consolations, as Paige Fisher posted a 2:02.28 to take ninth overall and win the B final (20 points). Charlotte Ducanois added a 17th-place finish (2:04.66) to win the C final.

On the boards, Ellie Sundin earned a top-10 finish in the 1-meter diving competition, scoring 248.25 to win the B final and place ninth overall while collecting 20 points for Colgate.

On the men's side, first-year David Brophy set the program record in the 500-yard freestyle twice on Friday. He posted a time of 4:29.32 in the preliminaries before crushing that time by nearly two seconds (4:27.61) to place fifth in the B Final and 13th overall. 

Andrew Mazzacano added to the team total in the 200-yard IM, finishing 24th overall (1:52.30) in the C final.

Competition continues  at 10 a.m. Friday morning with a full slate of preliminary events followed by final races at 6 p.m.
