Colgate Men Land 15 On ECAC Hockey All Academic Team

Mark Anderson is one of four three-year honorees for Colgate
ALBANY, N.Y. (4/8/09) – Fifteen members of the Colgate's men's hockey team were named to the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic team, it was recently announced by the league office.

The team comprises of 167 student-athletes from 12 member institutions.  In total, 90 of the members are repeat performers, while 44 of the student-athletes have the distinction of being named to the team three consecutive years.

Mark Anderson (Hastings, Neb.), Peter Bogdanich (Burnaby, B.C.), Jason Fredricks (Eagle River, Wisc.), and David Sloane (Ambler, Pa.) are three year members of the team, while Francois Brisebois (Montreal, Que.), Brian Day (Danvers, Mass.), David McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.), Wade Poplawski (Winnipeg, Man.), and Nick St, Pierre (St. Etienne, Que.) are repeat performers.

First time Raiders to achieve the academic recognition include Bryan Bessette (Melrose, N.Y.), Sean Carty (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), Adam Corrin (Winnipeg, Man.), Matt Firman (Fayetteville, N.Y.), Mark Nasca (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), and Jason Williams (Plattsburgh, N.Y.).

Players eligible for academic recognition must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale or have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher the previous three semesters.
