HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/23/09)—The Colgate men's lacrosse team will attempt to repeat as champions as the Patriot League Tournament gets underway Friday, April 24 at Bucknell.
Colgate enters as the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will face-off against third-seeded Navy at 5:45 p.m., at Christy Mathews Memorial Stadium. The game will be televised live by CBS College Sports.
The Raiders and Midshipmen are facing-off for the 12th time with Navy leading the series 8-3. The Raiders have won the last two meetings, including the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament last season 12-9.
Colgate, the defending champion, enters the Patriot League tournament as the No. 2 seed after falling to Bucknell 19-11 on Saturday, April 18. The Raiders offense is led by senior attacker
Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.). Corp has a team-high 58 points off 33 goals and a career-high 25 assists. Corp leads the nation averaging 4.46 points per game. Classmate
Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) is right behind him with 48 points off a team-high 36 goals and 12 assists for 4.00 points per game, fourth in the nation. Senior

Sophomore face-off specialist
Jim Carroll (Nesconset, N.Y.) is 114-of-209 in restarts for a .545 success rate. He also leads the team with 55 groundballs. Between the pipes junior
Tim Harrington (Lutherville, Md.) is 9-4 on the season and sports a 9.79 goals against average and .520 save percentage. He is averaging 10.60 saves per game.
The Mids (9-4, 4-2) enter after a tough loss last weekend to Johns Hopkins, 15-7. Tim Paul leads the team with 30 points off 17 goals and 13 assists, while Brandon Connors is second on the team with 26 points, 18 goals and eight assists. Frankie Coppola leads in face-offs with a .613 and groundballs 42. Tommy Phelan is 3-1 between the pipes and has a .667 save percentage and a 7.83 goals against average.
Top-seeded Bucknell (8-6, 6-0 PL) will play host to fourth-seeded Army (6-8, 2-4 PL) in the first semifinal beginning at 3:00 p.m. Bucknell is hosting the tournament for the first time in program history. The Black Knights, meanwhile, got into the tournament by way of a Lafayette win over Lehigh last week and the go-ahead margin in goal differential in league action.
