On overall team performance:
“We should have come out stronger. We only scored six points in the first half. However, we won and the game is about winning, it’s a Patriot League game so we got a big win. Everyone around me made big plays and I did what I could for us to win.”
On first conference win and being undefeated:
“It’s always big, like I said it’s always big to get Patriot League wins. These are all championship games and its good to win against a good team like Fordham.”
Coach Biddle:
On being 4-0:
“Well I’m glad we’re 4-0, you’ve got to be happy, you can’t be better than 4-0. I think today we struggled a little bit, we took a lot of points off the board and we moved the ball just didn’t get some points and they capitalized on it. I think our defense played outstanding, I think our kicking game was a little shaky, as was theirs, but it was just a strange game. I don’t think either team really could put the other team away. They made the same mistakes, missed extra points blocked kicks or whatever that took points off the board. But we found a way to win and we’ve got a lot guys banged up that aren’t playing so I’m very proud of them. I’m happy to be 4-0, that’s the best you can be. Hopefully we’ll get some guys back and we’ve got a lot to learn off this tape. I’ve been here when we’ve lost games and a win counts as a win so we’re very happy.”
On defensive performance:
“They’ve got a good offense, they got some good skilled players and an experienced quarterback and they went in that huddle and they only got 13 or 14 points. So I think our defense played outstanding, they were the difference. We didn’t score enough points and sometimes that happens, your offense struggles and doesn’t get points on the board and your defense has got to step up and play and I think they’ve played the last two weeks.”
Pat Simonds:
On his touchdown:
“You’ve got to make the play when they call your number. We struggled offensively, we couldn’t finish our drives tonight and that’s something we really need to work on but when they call your number you’ve really got to pull through for your teammates and it’s not like we pass that much anyway. You get your number called a little bit and you get really excited.”
On overall team performance:
“I think our defense played extremely well tonight, without our defense playing that well then we wouldn’t have won the game. Offensively we’ve got a lot of things to work on but some guys stepped up, Jordan ran hard and we’re 4-0 and that’s all you can ask for so we’re excited for the rest of the season.”
On staying undefeated this far in the season:
“It feels great. It’s been our goal. We’ve never been 4-0 since 2003. Nobody on our team has been 4-0 here, it’s kind of uncharted territory for us but we’re excited about it and we’re not done yet.”
