Best Games: Caught first collegiate touchdown pass on 4-yard toss from fellow tight end Nick Diaco ... Three catches in back-to-back games against Cornell and Holy Cross ... Picked up 43 yards in first career start to aid 21-20 victory over Big Red ... Went for career-high 57 against Crusaders ... Single catches at Air Force, William & Mary and Fordham.
Coach Hunt on Michael: "Kaner is a great example of sticking with it and when you get your shot, making it happen. He was a backup for most of his career, a good scout team player. This year, he got himself the role of the No. 3 tight end, and we use multiple tight ends quite a bit. Through injury, he got a chance to play and really made the most of it. He did his job well, was productive, and has had some big catches in big games for us – to the point where he is staying in the rotation because he deserves it. He never complained, he understood what the process was for getting on the field and he made sure that he was ready to go, and boy did he prove it. He's finishing up with a good senior year. Again, it's what you want to see. When seniors can do this, it usually means you have a pretty good program. Particularly, with him, you're dealing with a great kid."
