Biography

Senior Year (2011-2012): Played in all 39 games, recording career-high eight goals and fifteen helpers for a total of 23 points … had a point in four games in a row including a goal and an assist in Princeton on Nov. 19, assists in Vermont and Clarkson, two goals in St. Lawrence on Dec. 3 … recorded two power-play goals with four shots at Niagara on Oct. 28 … had one power-play goal in Miami, Princeton and Union … completing the season with five power-play goals…registered helpers in back to back games, one assist at RPI, two assists in Yale and three assists in Brown … had one unanswered short-handed goal versus Canisius on Dec. 30 … recorded shots in all games but three … had seven shots in Princeton and six shots in Miami and Princeton ... finished the season with 92 shots. 

Junior Year (2010-11): Played in 36 games, scoring five goals, while adding five assists for 10 points ... he played two seasons at Providence College before transferring to Colgate ... has one more year of eligibility with Colgate ... was a great contributor down the stretch with five points on three goals and two assists in the final 10 games, including four of the five in the series wins over RPI and Union ... tallied his first point with the Raiders with an assist against Sacred Heart in a 5-0 win on Oct. 30 ... had points in back-to-back games against Cornell at the Prudential Center and at Army in a 3-0 win on Dec. 4 ... scored first goal for Colgate at the Prudential Center on Nov. 27 in a 4-3 loss to the Big Red ... tallied another goal against Dartmouth at the Ledyard Classic on New Year’s Eve ... added the lone goal in a 1-1 tie with #3 Yale on the final weekend of the regular season ... had two points in the series win over Rensselaer ... added an assist in game two’s 5-2 win ... scored the team’s first shorthanded goal of the season in game three, which gave Colgate a 1-0 lead in the first period ... it was his second shortie of his career ... kept the postseason success going with a goal and an assist in the series against Union ... started the four-goal third period.

Before Colgate: Mayer is a transfer from Providence College and sat out last season ... played for the N.H. Jr. Monarchs from 2006-07 and also with the Foxboro Stars from 2004-06 ... won the Eastern Juniors Championship in 2007 ... went to Moses Brown School in Providence and was an all-state selection in 2003-04 ... competed in lacrosse as well and was an All-American as a senior at Moses Brown in 2006.
