Before Colgate
Colmenares joins the program after a highly successful residency in the MLS Next circuit with the San Jose Earthquakes academy. A 2026 graduate of California Online Public Schools who also attended Castro Valley High School, the midfielder spent nearly a decade with the Earthquakes from 2018 to 2026. He served as a long-term team captain from 2018 to 2022 and again during his 2026 senior campaign, where he recorded 14 points on four goals and 10 assists. On the national stage, his elite playmaking earned him two call-ups to the Under-15 U.S. Youth National Team training camps. He also anchored the Earthquakes to a historic third-place finish at the 2024 Generation Adidas Cup, marking the deepest tournament run by any academy team in franchise history.
