Fifth Year (2021-22)
Stats: Appeared in all 40 of Colgate’s games…had a career-high season in goals (14), assists (13), and points (27) …netted four power play goals and four game-winning goals…posted a .498 face off win percentage and his 394 face off wins ranked 15th-best in the nation…recorded 71 shots on goal and 22 blocked shots…also logged a +8 rating.
Best Games: Dished out two assists in the season-opener at RIT (Oct. 2) …tallied three points with two goals and an assist at Vermont (Oct. 8) …scored two power play goals against Merrimack (Oct. 16) …found the back of the net twice, including the game-winner against RPI (Nov. 12) …. notched a goal and an assist against Harvard (Jan. 28) …scored the overtime-winner during Game 1 of the first round of the ECAC playoffs against Yale (March 4).
Honors: Served as team captain during 2021-22 season… earned the Steve Riggs Memorial Award for his gentlemanly play for the fourth straight season...named to the Raider Academic Honor Roll and ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team…also honored as an AHCA/Krampade Academic All-American Scholar.

Senior Year (2020-21)

Stats: Competed in all 22 games for the Raiders … recorded a team-leading 13 points by seven goals and six assists … scored a team-leading three shorthanded goals, one power play goal, one game-winner, and one game-tying goal … tallied 54 shots on goal and 10 blocked shots while finishing with a plus-7 rating on the ice … had four multi-point games.
Best Games: Scored the game-winning goal in the 4-3 win at Quinnipiac (March 6) in addition to marking an apple and a season-high plus-3 rating on the ice … followed it up with another two-point night by a shorthanded goal and an assist in the ECAC Semifinals at St. Lawrence (March 18) and a plus-3 rating … scored the game-tying goal shorthanded at St. Lawrence (Jan. 10) … also scored a shorty against Clarkson (Feb. 26) … scored again off of a season-high of seven shots on goal against Quinnipiac (Feb. 12) … finished the season with six points through the last five games.
Honors: Voted to serve as an assistant captain for the 2020-21 campaign … named Colgate Hockey's Best Offensive Player and to the Steve Riggs Memorial Award for his gentlemanly play ... earned ECAC First Team All-League honors … named to the Raider Academic Honor Roll and ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.

 
Junior Year (2019-20)

Stats: Appeared in 35 of 36 games for the Raiders prior to the cancellation of the ECAC Tournament … recorded seven points by three goals and four assists … tallied 58 shots on goal, along with 19 blocked shots … posted two power play goals.
Best Games: Scored the lone goal against RIT (Oct. 5) … began a two-game point streak by following it up with an assist at Ferris State (Oct. 10) … scored another power play tally at then-No. 2 Cornell (Feb. 9) … recorded the tying goal in the 3-2 overtime win against Brown for a sweep of the First Round of the ECAC Tournament (March 7).

Honors: Garnered second straight Steve Riggs Memorial Award for his gentlemanly play. 
 
Sophomore Year (2018-19)

Stats: Played in all 36 games for the Raiders … recorded four goals and 11 assists for 15 points on the year … ranked second on the Colgate squad with his 15 points … had three multi-point games … marked 68 shots on goal for 1.89 shots per game … went on four two-game point streaks … tallied three or more shots on goal in 10 games this season.
Best Games: Scored the game-tying goal at Dartmouth (Dec. 1) after posting an assist for a multi-point performance … had a three-point weekend against then-No. 11 Cornell (Jan. 25-26) behind one goal and two assists … had another three-point weekend in the weekend sweep of then-No. 3 Quinnipiac and Princeton (Jan. 4-5) … had a game-high of a plus-2 rating in the 3-2 overtime win at then-No. 11 Cornell (Jan. 26) … earned a season-high of five shots on goal at Miami (OH) (Oct. 27) … also had marked a power play goal at Miami (OH) (Oct. 26).
Honors: Recipient of the team's Steve Riggs Memorial Award, presented annually to the player who is most known for gentlemanly play and possesses a high standard of ability ... Named to Raider Academic Honor Roll.


Freshman Year (2017-18)
Stats: One of four players on the team and only freshman to play in all 40 games…Scored five goals and added 12 assists for 17 points…Also netted a power-play goal and game-winning goal…Had points in back-to-back games to open up his career and recorded a season-long three-game point streak from Feb. 10-17…Raiders were 9-3-2 when McKechney recorded a point…Led ECAC Hockey freshman with 333 faceoff wins and was fifth with a .524 faceoff win percentage...Won 10 or more faceoffs 11 times.
Best Games: Tallied first career point with an assist in Colgate’s 5-1 win vs. Niagara on Sept. 30…Won a season-best 16 faceoffs vs. Merrimack in a 2-2 tie on Oct. 7...Recorded first multi-point game with a pair of assists in a 4-1 win at Quinnipiac on Nov. 4…Scored first career goal and added an assist in a 2-1 win at Brown on Jan. 12…Scored goals in back-to-back games in a tie at Clarkson (Feb. 10) and vs. Yale (Feb. 16) before tallying a pair of assists in a 3-1 win vs. Brown (Feb. 17)…Scored his first playoff goal in a 2-0 series-clinching win vs. Rensselaer (March 4).

Before Colgate

Spent the last two full seasons playing with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL…Was a teammate of Jared Cockrell during the 2015-16 season with Brooks…Played with Edge School Prep, graduating in 2015.
Stats: Played in 121 career games with the Bandits, netting 34 goals and picking up 82 assists for 116 points…Led all AJHL Players with 23 points on nine goals and 14 points in the 2016-17 postseason…Recorded a career-high 67 points in 60 regular season games in 2016-17 on 16 goals and 51 assists…Tallied 46 points on 21 goals and 25 assists in his final CSSHL season with Edge School in 2014-15.
