BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a three-touchdown performance in Colgate's 35-10 victory over Holy Cross, sophomore wide receiver
Matt Fogler has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Fogler caught touchdown passes of 33, 64, and 18 yards – all in the first half – to fuel the Raiders' explosive home opener last Saturday. The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year finished with six receptions for a career-high 153 yards in the win.
His first score, a 33-yard strike, capped a crisp three-play opening drive to give Colgate an early 7-0 advantage. Five minutes later, Fogler got behind the defense again, hauling in a career-long 64-yard touchdown pass to push the first-quarter lead to 14-3.
The Cincinnati native closed out his spectacular opening half with an 18-yard back-shoulder grab inside the front pylon, sending the Raiders into halftime with a 28-10 cushion.
Fogler's career day helped spark Colgate to its first 2-0 start since 2018. With the selection, Colgate has swept the league's first two Offensive Player of the Week accolades this season, following Danny Shaban's 214-yard rushing performance in the opener against Fordham.
