BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate Men's Basketball sophomore
Andrew Alekseyenko has been named to the Preseason Men's Basketball All-Patriot League Team and the Raiders were picked third in the preseason poll, according to the conference announcement on Thursday.
Alekseyenko, the reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year and All-League Second Team honoree, averaged 14.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season. He was a five-time Rookie of the Week, tied for the most weekly honors by a first-year in program history.
The Brookline, Mass., native scored 20 or more points three times, including a career-high 25 points against St. Bonaventure last December. He concluded his rookie campaign with 18 consecutive double-figure scoring performances.
Alekseyenko led the team with four double-doubles, including a 20-point, 10-rebound performance against Patriot League champion Lehigh last January. In 33 games played last season, he connected on 49.9 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from behind the arc, and 78.1 percent from the free throw line.
Colgate returns three starters from last year's team that finished 18-15 overall and 11-7 in Patriot League play. The Raiders advanced to the conference tournament semifinals for the ninth consecutive year under 16th-year head coach Matt Langel.
In addition to the core returners, Colgate welcomes back senior Parker Jones from injury (started 31 games in 2024-25) alongside three newcomers: first-year guards Kingston McKoy and Jayden Harrington, and sophomore transfer guard Isaiah Skinn from George Mason.
