Track and Field Adds Brannigan to Staff

Brannigan joins after two years at Alfred University

HAMILTON - The Colgate track and field programs announced the addition of David Brannigan as the new Assistant Sprints & Jumps Coach.

Brannigan joins the Raiders after two years at Alfred University as a Track and Field Assistant. Brannigan managed throws, multi-athletes, and jumps groups as well assisted with sprints.

"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Coach David Brannigan to our program as our new Assistant Sprints & Jumps Coach," coach France said. "His genuine love for coaching, enthusiasm, and commitment to making a positive impact on our student-athletes immediately stood out to me. David brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, energy, and a relentless drive to help athletes reach their full potential. His ability to connect with athletes and bring out the very best in them will be a pivotal addition to our program, and I'm excited to see the impact he will make on our young men and women."

Before Alfred, Brannigan spent three years at Utica University as a Track and Field Athletic Assistant where he oversaw the high jump event group, managed team gear as well as supported recruitment and coaching.

Brannigan began his coaching career at North Rose-Wolcott Central School District before heading to Irondequoit High School as the head coach. He also currently serves as Director of Operations & Head Coach at Buffum Speed Camp in Webster, N.Y.

The Rochester, N.Y. native earned his Bachelor of Science in African American Studies and Sociology from SUNY Brockport before continuing his education at Utica University where he got his MBA in Business Administration.
