Men’s Rowing Wraps Up Season at IRA National Championship

The Varsity 4+ competed for the Raiders

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The men's rowing Varsity 4+ competed at the IRA National Championship on Lake Natoma. The event featured 33 teams competing in heavyweight, lightweight, and Division III events.

Colgate's 1V4+ competed in two races over the weekend. The boat was coxed by Rina Borenstein, followed by stroke seat Luca Williams, Andrew Dumaresq in seat three, Daniel Milligan in seat two, and Mark Giacona in the bow seat.

The first race the 1V4+ competed in was the Semifinal ABC. Colgate competed against five other opponents: UC Berkeley, Princeton, Syracuse, Cornell, and Stetson. In their first heat, the Raiders finished fifth. UC Berkeley, Princeton, and Syracuse took the first three spots. Cornell finished in 6:43.710, about three seconds faster than the Raiders, who crossed the line at 6:46.910. Stetson was the last team to cross the finish line in 6:49.350.

With the Raiders' fifth-place finish, they moved to the Final C bracket, where they competed against Brown, St. Joe's, FIT, Stetson, and San Diego.

In Colgate's final race of the weekend, they finished third in the Final C race. In a closely contested race, Brown took the first-place finish, posting a time of 6:43.000, while St. Joe's finished milliseconds behind the Bears in 6:43.150. Colgate crossed the line about three seconds later with a time of 6:46.860. Rounding out the bottom three finishers were FIT (6:47.540), Stetson (6:48.870), and San Diego (6:49.220).

The Raiders closed out their 2025–26 season at the IRA National Championships. They graduated one senior, Williams, and will return with a veteran squad next season.
