HAMILTON – Boston University used a 10-run second inning to defeat Colgate Softball, 13-3, and complete the series sweep Sunday afternoon at Eaton Street Complex.
Nora Megenity bashed her 16th home run of the season, an opposite-field solo blast in the bottom of the fifth. Lily Haluska also left the yard, powering a two-run homer in the fourth for her 13th long ball of the season.
Marina Taveras paced Colgate's offense going 3-for-3 with a run scored on the day. Megenity also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3, while Kayla Martin and Haluska posted one hit apiece.
Haluska and Megenity provided Colgate's three unanswered runs over the last two innings. Boston U built a 10-0 lead in a second inning that included eight hits, three home runs, and an obstruction call as the Terriers took control of the momentum.
The Terriers were in front 13-0 before Colgate scored the final three runs of the contest off the homers from Haluska and Megenity.
